The Australian Poetry Slam Champion 2009- Sarah Taylor.
Sarah is a retired librarian/budding novelist. Since winning the slam she has:
-Published an anthology of slam poetry
-Produced a CD of spoken word
-Featured at the Sydney Writers Festival
-Produced a website www.sarahslampoetry.com

The Australian Poetry Slam Champion 2008- Omar Musa.
“Really the Slam in 2008 was the kick-start of my career. The opportunities started snow-balling from there.”

Omar Musa a 24 year old hip hop artist from Queanbeyan NSW won the slam in 2008. Since then he has:
-Toured performances to Asia, Germany and the UK
-Produced an acclaimed hip-hop CD and 2 music videos
-Published a book of poetry
-Worked with Bell Shakespeare in As You Like It.
-Opened for Gil Scott-Heron in Munich July 2010
Here he is being interviewed by ABC online.
