About the WA Heats
The Perth heats of the 2011 Australian Poetry Slam will be held at the Artrage Bakery complex - 233 James Street, Northbridge - Perth WA. There's a map on the venue page.
Each Heat Winner and Runner up will receive prizes and go into the State Final on November 1st.
State Winner will receive $500 cash prize and the State Runner-Up $100 cash prize - both will receive flights and accommodation to the National Finals at the Sydney theatre Company on 27th November.
Slammers will be competing for the ultimate writer's tour of Asia. The Australian Poetry Slam Champion for 2010 will mix it up with the literati; presenting panels, performances and workshops at the Bookworm International Writers Festival in Beijing, Chengdu and Suzhou in 2012 and at The Ubud Writers and Readers Festval in Bali in 2012. The total value of the two trips is $11,000 and priceless professional development.

- Heat 1: Tuesday 4th October
- Heat 2: Tuesday 11th October
- Heat 3: Tuesday 18th October
- Heat 4: Tuesday 25th October
- State Final: Tuesday 1st November
- Each night starts at 7.00PM
