Burnie – APS Workshop (TAS)

  • Burnie Library 30 Alexander Street Burnie, TAS, 7320 Australia (map)

Contact details, registration and more information here.

Australia needs all of its stories to inspire the world, not just those told by people in power.
Step from the herd. Listen and get HEARD! A poetry slam is a place for all voices.

Polish up your poetry, write your words, modify your meter and shine up your stanzas at this APS Poetry Workshop. Hani Abdile and Rob Waters will guide you in writing words that electrify the imagination, re-shaping existing work into competition-ready pieces. Learn how to use your voice and body to bring the house down on stage.

Want to try out your skills or watch local poets on the mic? Check out the Burnie 2025 APS Heat.

Feeling inspired by all moments poetic and spoken word? There is an expanded program of Tasmania APS 2025 events for you to experience!

FACILITATORS: Hani Abdile and Rob Waters

Content Warning: Most Poetry Slams are all ages and some content may not be suitable for children. Performances may include strong language and / or adult themes.
