The stage is set as the Australia Poetry Slam – Darwin and Top End Australia return this July, supporting the region's raw talent and vibrant stories come to life.

Are you the next Australian Poetry Slam Champion? All you need is an original poem and two minutes on the mic. If you prefer to shine from the audience, join us to listen, cheer, snap your fingers and hold-up scorecards in this national celebration of spoken-wordsmiths.

Whether you’re performing as a poet or supporting local wordsmiths from the crowd – this is the place to be. A poetry slam is a place for all voices. It’s APS 2025 – The Election Special.

Want to get inspired with a spoken word workshop led by a professional slam poet? In the lead-up to the Darwin APS Heat and the Top End Australia Final Melanie Mununggurr and Jo Yang will host a dynamic All Ages Poetry Workshop.
