MAHALIA CHARLOTTE

Mahalia Charlotte grew up in Wollongong by the sea on Dharawal land. Now, she is a poet living in the Northern Territory on Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman lands with her partner and 3 cats. In her spare time, Mahalia writes about women – how they survive and live in this world. In 2025, she won the Katherine Heat of the Australian Poetry Slam and was a Top End Finalist.

Mahalia was also chosen as part of Red Room’s 30in30 3 commissioned works. In 2026 she was invited to perform at 4 events at the Red Dirt Poetry Festival in Alice Springs, and was commissioned by Cordite.
