Australia needs all of its stories to inspire the world, not just those told by people in power.
Step from the herd. Listen and get HEARD! A poetry slam is a place for all voices.

Meet author and Melbourne 2015 Poetry Slam Champion, John Englezos. John will perform one of his pieces, talk about how he started performing poetry and will share his tips for the best way to take part in your first slam. Learn how to express your creative ideas using live performance and writing techniques. Today the page, tomorrow the stage.

Want to get inspired with an extra two-hour spoken word workshop? There’s also the Albury–Wodonga All-ages APS Workshop taking place.

Want to try out your skills or watch local poets on the mic? Check out the Albury–Wodonga 2025 APS Heat.

FACILITATOR: John Englezos

Content Warning: Most Poetry Slams are all ages and some content may not be suitable for children. Performances may include strong language and / or adult themes.

Event times local time.
