“I’m Dishita Bhattacharya, a Year 11 student at high school with a passion for exploring the intersection of science and the arts. In my spare time, I write poetry that shines a light on social inequalities and the complexities of the human experience. My favourite subjects are Biology and English.

For me, slam poetry is a powerful outlet to share personal stories, confront societal issues, and channel emotions into something meaningful and impactful. I live by the words of Shirley Chisholm: “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.””
