Mixtures – Joanna Yang

$15.00

In Mixtures, 2022 Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Joanna Yang invites you to journey through a compilation of stories, fusing the different elements of her identity into one. Mixtures features Jo's Championship winning poems An apology and The Broken System, which were performed at the Sydney Opera House in 2022.

Mixtures is Jo’s tour booklet for her 2023 regional tour which included the Byron Writer’s Festival and Writers on the Road. Jo will be publishing a new book of poetry later this year, and Mixtures contains a sneak peak into this book with her poem All grown up.

Born and raised in Naarm/Melbourne and now living on Warumungu Country, Jo Yang is the 2022 Australian Poetry Slam Champion and winner of the first Barkly Poetry Heat in the Northern Territory. She is a teacher, podcaster, writer, and poet, and is influenced heavily by her proud Chinese heritage, and life as a high school educator. With often tough topics to flesh out in her poetry, she deeply values the art of storytelling through humour and compassion.
